Steam shower doors are usually the final scope of work in a bathroom renovation where a shower has been converted into a digitally regulated steam shower experience. Without the digital control of steam, going floor to ceiling with glass is typically a bad idea, because you need some space between the top of the glass and the ceiling for steam to escape. But when a shower space has been design and purpose-built for a steam shower experience? A frameless glass steam enclosure is the final piece of the puzzle that brings a bathroom remodeling project to a stunning conclusion.
We recently completed two steam shower installations that both turned out fantastic.
Steam Shower Door in Gaithersburg, MD
This alcove opening with bench seat in Gaithersburg is pretty representative of steam shower doors in a wall-to-wall opening. There’s low profile u-channel at the base and the top of the stationary glass, but a clean 1/16″ gap with no metal on the left wall.
There’s also an operable transom above the door, providing analog steam regulation (i.e., swivel it open/closed as necessary to decrease/increase steam intensity) that complements the digital regulation. We install our transoms our transoms with translucent vinyls to make sure steam stays in when you want that max steam spa experience!
Steam Shower Door in Waynesboro, PA
This corner steam shower in Waynesboro also turned out really well. The bathroom was still a work in progress when we did our installation, but you can definitely tell this will be a stunning bathroom once the work is complete.
The corner layout is a little more complicated for steam showers, but our technicians have deep experience with this unit type. The specific layout had a knee wall by the vanity and another knee wall by the toilet. The customer opted for a traditional look with the fluted back-to-back handle, and they were very pleased with the end result.
