We believe in “above and beyond” as a baseline standard. We deal in high-end, bespoke shower doors, so our installations need to be polished and precise; our communications with customers need to be prompt and knowledgeable.

We preach customer empathy throughout our organization, making sure all employees understand that bathroom renovations are a huge investment and a disruptive process for our customers. Since shower doors are literally the final step in a remodeling project, our customers are often out of time, patience, money, or all three by the time they’re ready for shower doors! Company History

Founded in 1991 out of his garage in Jefferson, MD, Shower Door Experts spent most of the 90’s slowly building a reputation for quality and responsiveness. Founder Tom Huck and a small team of 2-3 helpers practically lived out of a pickup truck, honing their craft and growing their customer base in the DC area.

By the early 2000’s, it was time to take the next step: grow the team! The first office hires were made and the first additional installation technicians were onboarded. By 2008 the company had outgrown Tom’s garage and moved into a commercial space in Jefferson, MD.

Since then annual growth has been steady, necessitating a move to an even bigger base of operations in Frederick, MD. Tom’s son Devin is now the company’s general manager, and we have a dozen employees between the office and the field. We’re not the biggest shower door company in the area! And that’s by choice: it’s hard to scale artisan quality installations without prioritizing employee training and compensation over profits.
