SINGLE DOOR
When it comes to frameless shower doors, the single door layout is as simple and straightforward as it gets. It’s the one type of shower door that sort of chooses itself: for wall-to-wall openings between 22” and 30” wide, it’s literally the only option. For slightly wider (but still relatively narrow) openings between 30” and 36” wide, customers do have another option: a door & panel layout.
Heavy duty hinges can handle the weight of single doors up to 36” wide, but we usually recommend capping door widths at 32-34” so as not to push the hinges to their limits. This is just our preference as conservative craftsmen though, not a matter of safety. The worst case scenario is that the hinges will have to be serviced earlier or more frequently with 34” to 36” doors, which is not a big deal or hugely problematic.
