You asked, we listened! Finally… soft-close shower doors that perform as advertised and do so with style!
After almost 30 years in the shower door business, we thought we’d gotten pretty good at spotting shower door trends and adapting to them early. But the “soft-close” craze is one that absolutely caught us off guard. Not since the first barn door style shower doors came out in the early 2000’s had we seen such a rapid shift in demand, in fact.
We began hearing the same cluster of questions over and over by mid-2016: Did we stock soft-close shower doors? No? Well, when would we stock them? We hadn’t been asked even once about soft-close shower doors in our first 25+ years as a company, but now it seemed like the only trend new customers cared about.
In response, we began making inquiries with manufacturers globally and soon discovered that a) there weren’t many companies focusing on soft-close shower door hardware, and b) the ones that did weren’t particularly innovative or competent..
It killed us to keep disappointing eager customers, but we held our ground and got used to patiently explaining that we weren’t bandwagon types. It had taken decades to build our reputation for quality, and we’d rather preserve that and lose a sale in the short-term then sell a product we couldn’t vouch for. We hope to sell shower doors to them, and their friends, and their friends’ friends for life, not cash in on a trend to make a quick buck.
And so it went… we kept waiting and waiting for the market to catch up with demand, refusing to settle on either form or function. Somebody would eventually produce a product that checked every single one of our boxes. Good things come to those who wait.
And finally in 2018, they did indeed! We rigorously tested a soft-close shower door that was both stylish and technically sound enough to impress grizzled shower door veterans such as ourselves. And we now proudly present it to you, with apologies for the wait! We give you: the Aqueous Touch.
